I intend to soften the boundary between teaching and research so that students in my class realize they are not here for spoon-feeding but for solving a practical engineering problem. After students get motivated, it is time to show them the big picture of the course. That is, what they can achieve finally and the way to achieve it. This is an important step as students will know their objectives at the beginning and the strategy to achieve it.
